Beyond the Classroom

Dual Language Immersion North County is a TK-8 tuition-free charter school that is building tomorrow’s leaders in an increasingly multilingual world. We do this through an innovative immersion curriculum in Spanish and English. But bilingual education is only part of what we do. We also offer opportunities for students to engage in the world around them through service learning and field trips; and explore new interests with sports and enrichment activities. For DLINC students, learning extends beyond the classroom!

Electives & Extracurriculars

DLINC embraces the importance of fine arts in the development of young minds. Our weekly TK-8 music and art instruction is fully integrated into the curriculum of each grade level. From social studies to language arts, our teachers collaborate to enrich core classroom lessons with art and music. Our artist-in-residence program invites professional writers and makers to work with students on special projects and performances throughout the year. DLINC students have also taken field trips to local art museums and performance halls, including attending Peter and the Wolf at the North State Symphony. All DLINC middle school students also have access to electives in drama, art and music.

New After School Enrichment

This year we are launching a new After School Enrichment program, which features an exciting roster of after school enrichment offerings led by DLINC teachers.  For each grade level cluster there is a different enrichment class each day, with Fridays designated for indoor/outdoor play.   Time for homework and physical fitness is also offered daily.  There is a small fee to participate,  and includes a Before School Care option which allows caregivers to drop children off as early as 7am.

  • TK-2 Enrichment Classes:  Math Games, Handwriting/Spanish, Garden/Science, Art

  • 3- 5 Enrichment Classes: Cursive/Creative Writing, Math Games/Checkers, Art, Science/Cooking

  • 6 - 8 Enrichment Classes: Math Homework Club, Cooking/Science, Chess

Sports for All

Our interscholastic athletics program is open to middle schoolers of all abilities, and offers a great opportunity for students to develop stronger friendships while learning valuable life skills like leadership and dedication. We are happy to be resuming our full roster of sports programs this year, including competitive boys’ and girls’ Cross Country, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer and Track/Field teams.

Field Trips

We take learning out of the classroom and explore our community with field trips for all grades, beginning in Kindergarten. Our youngest learners go to the Safari Park, and other grades visit the Carlsbad Lagoon, the San Diego Natural History Museum, LegoLand, the Maritime Museum of San Diego, and local missions. Milestone off campus experiences include middle school overnight trips.

Service Learning & Community Partnerships

We support service learning through student volunteer activities for all ages and grades throughout the year. We also partner with community businesses to host student activities, including Camp Pendleton for our popular Field Day, and Junior Achievement for an annual BizTown learning experience with our 5th grade students.

DLINC’s TK/K program sets our youngest learners on a path to success, through language immersion as well as enrichment and service learning activities, sports, art, music and more! Find out more and join our proud Wolfpack tuition-free public school community today!
